Nominal 300kW Module Combinations
The table shows the arithmetic for combining nominal 300kW units. The table gives nominal module totals for the initial capacity discussion.
| Modules | Nominal Total | Planning Point |
|---|---|---|
| 1 × 300kW | 300kW | Single-module starting point |
| 2 × 300kW | 600kW | Combined duty to be designed |
| 3 × 300kW | 900kW | Additional connection and space needs |
| 4 × 300kW | 1.2MW | Multiple-module installation |
| More modules | Above 1.2MW | Project-specific assessment |
Actual delivered output depends on the selected equipment, operating conditions and system arrangement. Confirm the specification, available equipment and duty before a hire is agreed.
How Much of the Installed Capacity Is Needed?
Provide the existing boiler ratings as background information. Determine the temporary capacity through a technical assessment of the required duty. Describe which services you need during the works.
Give the existing ratings and explain which circuits must stay operational. Include any known design load or operating information held by your M&E contractor. If the figures are unavailable, describe the building and mark capacity as uncertain.
The planned hire page explains how this assessment fits into a plant room replacement programme.
Heating and Domestic Hot Water
A temporary boiler produces heat for a connected system. Space heating may supply radiators, air-handling equipment or other heating circuits. Domestic hot water means the water used at taps and showers.
Domestic hot-water requirements need a separate assessment. Plate heat exchangers and calorifiers are examples of equipment used for temporary hot-water provision.
Demand at the Busiest Period
Describe the heating and hot-water applications and their usage patterns for a technical assessment of the required capacity. Include opening hours, busy periods and the services required during the works.
More Modules Change the Site Layout
A higher nominal total brings more equipment and connections. Establish the space available for trailers or other temporary plant, the pipe routes and the position of fuel and electrical supplies.
The nominal totals describe combined capacity. Any standby or fault-continuity provision is assessed for each site.
Our building sectors page highlights different priorities for occupied estates, commercial property and industrial sites.
Fuel and Operating Conditions
Tell us which fuel is available at the site and whether a temporary supply would need arranging. Gas or liquid-fuel options depend on the selected boiler specification and the site, so compatibility must be confirmed on enquiry.
Confirm the selected equipment’s fuel and electrical connection requirements during the technical assessment. Ask how fuel supply and any associated work are included in the proposed package.
Send the Capacity Information You Know
For a Scotland Boiler Hire discussion, include the required duty, installed ratings, programme dates and any drawings or operating information already held by the site team. Identify unknown values as unknown.
The capacity enquiry form accepts a kW figure or “not sure”. Use the notes to explain which heating and hot water services the temporary plant must support.
