Scotland Boiler Hire

Boiler Hire Questions

Boiler hire questions usually turn on the building’s duty, the hire period and how temporary equipment will connect. These answers cover the information needed for a useful first discussion.

If a detail is unknown, identify it in the enquiry rather than estimating a technical specification. The site assessment and agreed hire scope resolve the final arrangement.

How long can temporary boiler hire last?

A hire can be discussed for weeks or months, depending on the replacement or repair programme. Give the expected dates and the event that will allow removal. Extension terms and collection notice need to be agreed for the project.

Can temporary plant provide heating and hot water?

Both duties can be assessed. Plate heat exchangers and calorifiers are examples of equipment used for temporary hot-water provision. Describe your existing system and the heating and hot-water applications.

What if I do not know the required capacity?

Give the existing boiler ratings, the building use and the circuits that must stay operational. Mark the capacity as “not sure”. The installed plant total is background information, rather than a confirmed temporary load.

Is a 300kW boiler suitable for my building?

Suitability depends on the required duty, operating conditions and connections. A 300kW rating is a nominal starting figure. It does not confirm the output the installation will deliver to a particular building.

Can modules be combined for a larger load?

Nominal 300kW modules illustrate totals of 600kW, 900kW and 1.2MW for two, three and four modules. Larger arrangements require assessment. The connected design, equipment specification and availability must be confirmed.

What fuel can a temporary boiler use?

Fuel compatibility depends on the selected equipment and site. State whether gas or stored liquid fuel is available and whether a temporary supply would be needed. The fuel arrangement must be confirmed during the hire discussion.

What affects delivery and connection planning?

Vehicle access, a suitable standing position, distance to the plant room, fuel and electrical supplies, and safe pipe routes all affect the plan. Include site delivery hours and any access restrictions already identified by your facilities team.

Can you promise an emergency installation time?

A mobilisation time can only be confirmed after the site requirement, suitable equipment and installation arrangements have been assessed. Give the required date and explain the outage. For a suspected unsafe appliance, follow the site’s emergency procedure first.
